Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield Contract Updates

Although we were hopeful that we would reach an agreement with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield on a new contract before November 22, Horizon has made the decision to let our contract end. This means that Newton Memorial Hospital is no longer “in-network” with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. While this is not the result we would have preferred, we want you to know that Emergency Services are available to everyone in our community and are covered in full no matter what insurance card you carry in your wallet. And you will never be required to be pay one penny more for emergency care regardless of your insurance’s network status. This includes emergency room visits and hospital admissions through the Emergency Room. Your continued access to all of Newton Memorial Hosptial’s services remains our highest priority.
